THE BETTER BIKE SOCIAL
Propellernet
Castle Square House
9 Castle Square
Brighton BN1 1EG
A pop-up festival of the bike; a gathering of multiple voices across a range of events, exhibitions, activities, seminars, group rides, and workshops.
The festival is a not-for-profit programme of inter-linked flash events and venues, with a single purpose to celebrate the many ways in which ‘BIKES MAKE LIFE BETTER’; an opportunity to bring a broad community of people together to exchange passions, interests, knowledge and experience across a spectrum of bicycle related themes.

This is a self-initiated, grass roots, not-for-profit cultural programme. The events will be largely free to attend through a simple ticket booking system, with a programme which will continuously evolve, and will ‘pop-up’ at different times of the year.
The BETTER BIKE SOCIAL will explore how pedestrian and bicycle prioritised city planning is better at creating more inclusive and accessible neighbourhoods.
We will study bicycle mechanics and repair techniques. We will exchange stories of our adventures. We will simultaneously explore the city with SLOW rides and the countryside with FASTER RIDES through organised routes and guided tours.
Everyone attending gets a free 15 minute ride on Brighton’s Beryl bikes during the festival dates.
The rides are listed on the BetterPoints’ Move for Change app. An award-winning app for transport, health and climate.
Later in 2024 we will hold an interactive workshop for the public, local businesses and organisations and debate how to do things better in the face of a climate crisis. How do we create a better Brighton & Hove for pedestrians, businesses, cyclists, children, disabled and able bodied folks, for everyone?
